Enjoy a photography workshop at Gallocanta Lagoon, one of Europe’s most impressive locations for observing migrating cranes. Every year, thousands of cranes use the lagoon as a resting and feeding site, creating a truly spectacular experience for any nature photographer.
Over the course of three days, we will explore several strategic observation points and the surrounding areas of the lagoon, making the most of the many opportunities to photograph not only the cranes but also other waterbirds and birds of prey. This is the perfect opportunity to practice bird-in-flight photography techniques, experiment with panning shots, and play with light and composition.
In addition, during the evenings we will try to photograph the area’s nocturnal wildlife using high-speed equipment.
This experience is designed for photographers of all skill levels who want to enjoy one of Europe’s most spectacular natural settings.
We meet in Gallocanta after lunch and take our first route until the time when the cranes start flying in to roost at the lagoon, a moment we use to photograph the flocks in flight. At night, we carry out a high-speed photography session to capture nocturnal wildlife.

We photograph the cranes as they leave the lagoon in the morning. During the day, we explore the surroundings to find flocks of cranes feeding in the fields, along with other wildlife typical of these steppe environments. In the evening, we watch the cranes returning to roost in the lagoon and carry out another high-speed photography session.

In the morning and afternoon, we follow the same routine as the previous day. At dusk, we watch the cranes return to the lagoon and, once it is dark, we conclude the workshop.
